Born Again and I Know It!
Hi friends! I’m finally back to blogging again after a few distractions like helping my sister get resettled after the loss of her husband recently. Today I’d like to share with you about what a spiritual hero my sister, Deb, has been to me because of her unwavering faith in spite of the many serious hardships of her life. When Debra was in the second grade, she had a brain hemorrhage that left her in a coma for several days, but thankfully she came out of it, but had to learn to walk all over again. This happened two more times in her life as well as having had breast cancer twice.Deb had to learn to live a calm life so as not to raise her blood pressure.. She is the most laid back, easy going person I know. (If only I could be so sweet!) After the third hemorrhage, in her 30s, doctors were able to do surgery to prevent it from happening again, however she was left partially paralyzed and has short term memory loss. But she has such an amazingly great attitude about her lot in life.
It has always seemed strange to me, that right after her surgery, she had total memory loss for a while. But one of the first things to come back was her memory of her faith in the Lord and her relationship to Him. She has trusted him throughout the years and often comments on how much she looks forward to going to Heaven to be with the Lord and now her husband David, too.
In episode #10 in the book, two 103 year old sisters are singing a song with their friends on their birthday. One of the sisters has been packing her bag to leave for Gloryland. The song is called Things’ll Be Better, and it proclaims how much better things will be in Gloryland, where there will be no more pain or suffering, no more hemorrhages or loss of memory, no more paralysis or loss of hearing or sight.
In John 14:2-4, Jesus tells us that He is going to Heaven to prepare a place for those who believe in Him and have become God’s children. And in Romans 8:17, we are told that even though we may suffer in this life, we will share in His glory when we get to Heaven where God will wipe away our tears and there will be no more sorrows, as it states in Rev.21:4. Jesus paid your way to Heaven through His death on the cross! Are you on your way to Gloryland? I’ll be back soon, Nancy
