The Choice
Hi, friends! It’s been a while since I last posted. March was really madness with a very busy schedule, but I wanted to share some thoughts about this special week end we are celebrating. In episode #10 in the book, two twin sisters are celebrating their 103rd birthday as they share their hope of Heaven with friends. Hope you will read about these delightful sisters and the message of the song with that episode, “Things’ll Be Better.” But why is it, that we as Christians can have the assurance of our eternity in Heaven? Many years ago, I wrote this short message called, The Choice, for anyone who may not understand this hope that can be theirs. THE CHOICE From the very beginning of time as we know it, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit have been involved in this wonderful world they created, and involved in the life of every person that they placed in this world. To every man and woman, His most treasured creation, God gave a free heart and a free will, similar to His own, capable of great accomplishments and unmeasurable love. Throughout all of man’s existence on earth, God has sought to have fellowship with him; with Adam and Eve in the garden, with Abraham and his wandering clan of family members, with Moses and his complaining tribe of God’s chosen people, trapped in the wilderness of their own hearts. Sometimes that fellowship was warm and intimate, but other times it was broken because of the wilderness man created. Over and over again, man has wandered away from God in pursuit of his own desires, seeking his own ways, and stepping out of God’s will. Wrapped up in selfish ambitions, mankind has continued throughout the ages to show his need for a savior from his lost relationship to God; a savior to bring reconciliation between he and his Creator. And so, when the time was right, our Savior burst onto the pages of history. God dwelt among us in His Son, Jesus, revealing God to us as we had never yet known Him. Jesus healed the sick, made the blind to see, and He even brought life back to some who had died. But most of all, this miracle worker brought the message of hope and redemption to a lost people, destined for an eternity without God. But one day, as the crowds of curious people looked on, among the frenzied shouts from critics, our Savior was led to a place called Calvery, a place where common criminals were put to death. There, Jesus willingly gave his life, innocent of any crime, but guilty of loving us so much that He was willing to die for us. Yes, Jesus became the sacrifice that was required for us to be reconciled to God. But three days later, Jesus rose triumphantly to life again. Truely, our Savior has come. Today, the question still remains, will you choose to have fellowship with God and receive forgiveness for every sin, by accepting the Savior He gave for you, or will you choose to go into eternity without God?……….The choice is yours alone.
I pray that if you have not already chosen Jesus to be your Savior, that you will make this the day of your salvation. God loves you and wants to spend eternity with you. I recently wrote a song called, “Guilty Too.” The first verse tells about how many of God’s chosen people did not recognize Jesus as the Messiah that God had promised, to bring them salvation, and therefore, they sent Him to the cross. The lyrics in the chorus read like this…………… There, Jesus hung between two criminals But, He was guilty too, Guilty of loving us so very much, That He died for me and you. Lord, I’ve surveyed the crown of thorns, Your nail pierced hands, Your bleeding side. I pray you’ll find me, Lord, That guilty of loving you. Please, find me guilty, Lord, The way you were guilty too.
Can we ever be guilty of loving Jesus as much as He loves us? See you next time, Nancy
